To edit a vehicle profile, go to the vehicle profile you want to change and click on the pencil in the top-right corner of the screen. Make sure to save any changes you make!
To delete a vehicle profile, first go to your Garage and click on the vehicle profile you want to delete. Then scroll to the bottom of the page and click on the "Delete" button. Be warned that deleting a vehicle profile is a permanent action. You will not be able to recover the profile once you delete it.
To edit an entry in a vehicle profile, go to 'Timeline' and click on the entry you want to edit. Then click on the pencil icon in the top-right corner. Make sure to save any changes you make!
To delete an entry from your vehicle timeline, go to 'Timeline' in the vehicle profile and click on the entry you would like to delete. Then click on the "Delete" button. Be warned that deleting an entry is a permanent action. You will not be able to recover the entry once you delete it.
To edit entries in the expense manager, go to 'Expenses' in the vehicle profile and click on the desired entry in the expenses timeline. Then click on the pencil icon in the top-right corner. Make sure to save any changes you make!

To delete a document from your vehicle profile, go to 'Timeline' in the vehicle profile and click on the document entry you would like to delete. Then click on the "Delete" button at the bottom of the page. Be warned that deleting a document is a permanent action. You will not be able to recover the document once you delete it.
To delete a photo, go to the gallery by clicking on the header image of your vehicle profile. Then click on the image your would like to delete. Then click on the button in bottom-right corner of the screen. Be warned that deleting an entry is a permanent action. You will not be able to recover the entry once you delete it.
I would like to add other types vehicles to my Gapless profile, such as boats, motorcycles, etc. Can I do that?
Unfortunately, Gapless is currently only an app for cars (for now 😉). That being said, you can still add other vehicles to your garage. You'll just have to enter everything manually and improvise a little, since all the fields are designed for cars. The good news is, we're planning to expand into other types of vehicles, so stay tuned!
I have most of the documents that I want to upload to my vehicle profile on my laptop, but not on my phone. Can I still upload them easily?
Great that you already have your documents on your laptop. That makes the completion of your profile even faster. Simply log in on the desktop version via: https://gapless.app/login and upload the documents. Anything you upload on the web version of Gapless will automatically be available in the mobile version as well.
We understand that setting up a Gapless profile can mean a lot of data entry, and we're working hard to streamline the process. We're planning to add a feature that allows users to import digital data in bulk, and from files they created prior to downloading the Gapless App. This is a work in progress, so unfortunately we can't give you an ETA for when it might be implemented. Until then, we just ask that you keep your Gapless App up to date to ensure you get access to the feature when we launch it.
My vehicle has specific equipment that doesn't show up in the suggestions when I try to add it to my vehicle profile. Can I add it another way?
If you don't find your specific equipment in the suggestions, you can still add it by manually typing it in. In your vehicle profile, click on the pencil in the top-right corner of the screen, then click on "Equipment" and type your equipment into the "Add equipment" field. If you are adding multiple pieces of equipment, click on the "+" button to open another "Add equipment" field. When you are done, make sure to click on the "Save" button at the bottom of the screen.
Adding documents is a great way to enrich your profile. There are multiple ways to do this. First, you can click on the "Add documents" tile on the Home page. This will give you two options; to scan documents using your smartphone's camera, or to upload files you already have on your phone, your computer or in the cloud. Alternatively, you can add documents when creating a new entry for one of your vehicles. After clicking on "Add entry" on the Home page or in your vehicle profile, you can add documents to said entry by tapping "Attach documents or photos." Finally, you can add documents to existing entries by clicking on an entry in your vehicle profile, and then clicking on the pencil icon in the top-right corner of the screen. This allows you to edit the entry in multiple ways, including adding documents.
Registration & first steps
By confirming your email address, you are verifying that you are, in fact, the owner of the email address you used to sign up for Gapless. This measure helps prevent email fraud by making it harder for other people to open accounts in your name without your knowledge.
The more information you add to your vehicle profile—such as vehicle details, timeline entries and expenses—the more your completion percentage will rise.
The KBA (Kraftfahrtbundesamt) number consists of the HSN (Hersteller-Schlüssel-Nummer) and the first three digits of the TSN (Typ-Schlüssel-Nummer). You can find the HSN in section 2.1 of your vehicle registration document and the TSN in section 2.2 of said document.
The VIN is your Vehicle Identification Number. All vehicles are assigned one of these unique numbers. It's usually a 17-digit ID commonly found on the driver's side interior dash, door jamb or on title records.c
Please contact us via email@example.com, and we'll do all we can to accommodate you. In your email, please include as much information about your vehicle as possible. Alternatively, you can choose to enter your vehicle's details manually.
Unfortunately, that means our database doesn't include details about your car. We are constantly expanding out database, and hopefully it will encompass your car in the future. For now, please enter your vehicle's details manually instead.
Even if your make and model are not shown in the suggestions, you can still your vehicle to your Gapless garage. Simply enter your vehicle's details manually and save them by clicking on the check mark in the top-right corner of the screen.
To change your email in the Gapless app, go to "Profile", and then "My profile." Once there, simply type in a new email address and save the change.
"Confirmation pending" means that you have not verified your email address yet. Please check your inbox, look for a welcome email from Gapless, and verify your address by clicking on the button in that email. This way we can be sure that the email address you gave us really belongs to you. Once we're sure, then we can verify your account. If, for some reason, you cannot find the welcome email, we'll gladly send you a new one. Just tap on the big, yellow banner on your 'Home' screen, and we'll resend the email you need to verify your email address.
Click on 'forgot password?' below the login fields. Then enter the email address you used to register for your Gapless account, and we will email you with instructions for changing your password.
To change the language of your Gapless app, go to "Profile", and then "Preferences". Once there, tap on "Language" and choose the language you want to use.
To change the currency in the Gapless app, go to "Desk," and tap on "Settings." Once on the "Settings" page, tap on "Currency" to choose your preferred currency.
We are taking data privacy extremely seriously. All the data you give us is encrypted and securely stored on European servers. Our systems are designed such that no third party can access or use your data. If you decide to stop using our services and delete your account, all related data will be irretrievably deleted.
There is a feature I'd like to use that Gapless doesn't have yet. What can I do to let the Gapless team know, and hopefully see said feature in the future?

We don't currently support data importation from third party apps, but we're working on it. In fact, we're currently researching which apps our users would most like to import data from. Give us a hand by sharing your preferences with us at email@example.com.
Unfortunately, we currently cannot determine the value of all brands and models because we are still expanding the database we use to track the vehicle values. We are happy to report, however, that our database is growing continuously, and we guarantee our value tracker will be available for more brands in the future.
